Young onset dementia friendly environment.
From the moment you enter The Manor at St Catherine’s, the entire space and individual aspects have been specifically designed for a younger client incorporating familiar, carefully chosen décor, calming spaces and sensory enhancements to promote comfort and wellbeing.
Wayfinding and signposting can be crucial to some clients, so across the whole home colour-blocking and signalling techniques will guide and navigate clients and visitors with reassuring ease. We have also invested heavily in a full state of the art Circadian lighting system designed to stimulate and support natural circadian rhythms. The system can regulate better sleep patterns and has been scientifically proven to support appetite, metabolism, mood and engagement, overall reducing the feelings of depression.
Ultimately, The Manor offers a heady mix of both form and function, bringing cutting edge research and technology to the fore in an environment which provides a safe haven whilst promoting a sense of independence, engagement and connectivity.
Independence.
The Manor has a fully fitted, dementia-sensitive kitchen which promotes independence within a safe and secure manner. There is a dining room which can double-up as an activities lounge with a multi-functional activities table.
Relaxing.
Our spacious lounge allows clients to put up their feet and relax watching TV, chill out in our reading corner, or catch-up with friends over a cup of tea. We also have a cinema lounge which hosts movies, virtual globe travelling and community initiatives.
Wellbeing.
We place huge importance on wellbeing here at the The Manor, and our private garden, which includes an activities area, sports facilities and access to a sensory garden, enables us to build in lots of outdoor wellbeing activities.
A ground breaking
level of care.
At The Manor, we offer day care, respite stays and permanent placements. Our day care services operate seven days a week and run through from 8am to 6pm, with entirely flexible pick-up and drop-off times depending on your needs, charged at an hourly rate.
For respite and permanent clients, the home also has 7 private, fully furnished, dementia-friendly, en-suite bedrooms. Depending on the duration of their stay, clients will receive all scheduled meals in the day, including refreshments and regular snack trolleys, as well as access to our kitchen which is always stocked with goodies.
