Expertise.
Embracing a truly collaborative culture.

At the heart of our approach to dementia care is expertise. We understand that to be the best, there’s a need to forge solid, lasting collaborations with leaders in the field. This collaborative approach means that every aspect of care we provide, whether that’s dementia or young onset dementia, is formed using the latest cutting edge research, with all of our best practices formed using the very latest information and data available.

Working and collaborating with experts in the field of dementia, ‘Path’ is our transformative programme, designed to cultivate a culture of excellence in dementia care.

Here at family run Wellburn, we embrace diversity wholeheartedly, fostering an inclusive environment that celebrates individuality. This in turn, nurtures a welcoming environment and also ensures both our residents/ clients and staff feel empowered to be themselves and thrive and flourish as individuals.

We take immense pride in our diverse and talented dementia specialist teams. And we foster a culture of excellence, so no matter how much individual or collective experience our teams have, we’re committed to continuously pushing boundaries – especially when it comes to dementia.

The right culture.

Our dedicated caregivers and support staff undergo regular specialist training to understand the unique challenges, latest research and best practices in caring for individuals with dementia and young onset dementia.

Through a collaborative approach that prioritises sharing information and experiences, both internally and with our partners, we ensure our teams remain at the forefront of dementia care.

Dementia Forward / Dementia charity

Dementia Forward is the leading dementia charity for York and North Yorkshire, offering vital support, advice, and guidance to all affected by dementia in the county.

Throughout our journey, Dementia Forward has been instrumental in shaping both The Manor and St Catherine's, significantly contributing to their development from their earliest stages, standing by us as we pave the way for dementia care, together.  We continue to work closely with Dementia Forward and their landmark U&Me campaign team as we continue to work towards establishing Wellburn as leaders in dementia and young onset dementia in the region. peoples lives.

“This is a ground-breaking project and I genuinely believe What Wellburn are doing with St Catherine’s and The Manor could provide a template for the development of other services across the country .”

Professor Martin Green
Chief Executive of Care England

My late wife spent almost a year in the home, and the care she received was second to none. You had to see the love and patience at first hand to truly understand. I will always be grateful for that time.”

When it comes to dementia, every journey and path is different. We explore some of these journeys in our case studies, as we take a look at how dementia impacts not only the person living with it, but all of those in the support network, from carers, families and friends.
